In the new portal, a user can search for a species, based on its Latin or Swedish name, among some 16 million records. He/she can choose to download the search result as a table, or to have it visualized on a map.

GBIF-Sweden’s mapserver ”The Biodiversity Observer” is a tool for visualizing species occurrences on a map with several environmental layers. It is one of the new and improved functions of the GBIF-Sweden portal.
